The Nutcracker, presented by the Colorado Ballet, tells the story of whimsical wonder, trusting friendship, and classic Christmas cheer. From an elegant dancing sugar plum fairy to a scoundrel mouse king battle, you are greeted with uplifting songs and effortless laughs.

Here are our top three highlights:
The Mice
It’s not a surprise the mice are high on our list. With their childish games and fun demeanor, you are captivated by their playful antics to rile the audience. Mixing classic ballet movements with trendy dances kept the audience of all ages on their toes and curious of what was to come.
Snow
Polishing off the first Act is a seven-minute long scene of glistening winter snow, intricate icy blue costumes, and breathtaking choreography. I found myself charmed by each pirouette and leap in the smooth transition from Clara’s holiday party to a winter wonderland.
Seamless Set Transitions
Though a small feature, the attention to detail surrounding transitions from scene to scene in a cohesive and thoughtful method proved to create a well rounded and easy to follow experience.
